The ideal patient for tattoo removal is a fair-skinned, un-tanned patient with a dark blue or black tattoo. Fortunately, Laser Light Treatment Center has multiple lasers of different wavelengths and delivery abilities, so that darker-skinned patients, and those with other-colored tattoos, can receive optimal treatment. Older tattoos are removed more easily than freshly placed tattoos.

Sun exposure and tanning lotions should be avoided for a few weeks prior to treatments. No other special precaution or preparation is needed. A topically applied anesthetic cream is sometimes used. Multiple sessions are typically required for complete tattoo removal, usually 4 to 6 weeks apart.
